Two Courthouses:  1869 & 1890

Standing: 1890 National Register Property designed in Renaissance Revival style by B B. Trester and built of native livestone.  The 1869 courthouse on Maple Street is of limestone blocks and now serves as a library.

Bandera (Spanish for flag or banner) is named for a rage of hills and the famous Bandera Pass--site of a couple of desperate battles between Texas Rangers and Comanche.
