As we cross the beautiful Colorado River we will be entering California.
Continuing on Interstate-40 west through the Providence, Granite, Bristol and Cady Mountains into Barstow, California. From there we will be continuing our westward journey on Highway 58 through Bakersfield, the Diablo Mountain Range then the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. Once we crest the Santa Lucia Mountains the West (left) Coast will be coming into breath taking view. |

From there we make a sharp turn northward on Highway-1 (Pacific Highway) for what is expected to be a beautiful ride.
Shortly after making that turn north, we will be setting up camp in San Simeon State Park where we will be calling an end to day three. Inside our sleeping bags with the coastal air blowing through the tent.
Originally we had
planed on staying at Limekiln State Park but after posting our agenda on the
GL1800Riders forum for comments
and suggestions. It was brought to our attention that Limekiln was
closed do to the Chalk Fire that took place a few years earlier. This
destroying most of Limekiln which has remained closed. "Thanks
Smitty."
