Day 10

It is this day that our trip comes to and end...

After a wonderful breakfast and catching the sun come up over the canyon, we turn northward toward Colorado but not too far down the road, the electrical system on the bike starts to act up again.

For the last day and a half, it would show signs of problems but we figured we would ride her until it bucked us off  and today it did.

While at a gas stop, we went to start the bike up and it would not turn over.  The battery once more was dead.

From the moment we started having problems I would stop on a regular bases and stick the meter to the battery and to the charging system.  Each and every time, it would test out ok, yet it acted differently.

Now with the battery dead and failure to get it to charge after getting a dump, we came to the realization that the charging system was completely dead.

So with a few phone calls and being at our wits end, we gave up.

The closes dealer ship was hundreds of miles away along with the closest U-haul or a place we could rent a truck to ride home it.

Being out in the middle of no where and over 1,300 miles from home, we were stranded.

That being where good friends become priceless.

After a phone call to a good friend back in Texas, he and his son jump in truck and head out to get us.
