Day 08
Day eight starts off
with a late sleep in and a nice breakfast before heading inland to pick up
'America's Loneliest Highway' through Nevada. A ride that would turn
out be be one of my favorite for the trip.
After leaving the
hotel we picked up Hwy-20 heading east. A beautiful road through the
trees and mountains. A quite road with small towns and wonderful
people.
From there we swing
south or Reno and north of Lake Tahoe and make a quick stop at the start of
Hwy-50 in Nevada (America's Loneliest Highway) for the score card that we
are to get stamped along the way. This being the card provided by the
state of Nevada showing the completion of the America's Loneliest Highway.
From there we take in
the beautiful sites and the solitude through the long flat valleys between
each of the mountain ranges.
Long
straight roads that would stretch for a hundred miles between towns.
Long roads with no one out there but us.
With the sun now
setting, the evening ride changes and becomes even more majestic as the moon
rises above the mountain tops. A full moon that lights the entire
valley.
