This is the firewall pad/insulation replacement...  A replacement that is suppose to match the original, but produced poorly.

The biggest issue I have with it being incorrect is that the hump was produced off center pushing any of the existing drill holes off by about 1/2 inch with another hole being off around a full inch.  Thankfully, there was only a few holes present and the ones I am to drill, would be in the right spot.

After trimming one end of the pad off so it would fit, allied on the hump and drilling two small holes where it would be secured, I covered the back side of the pad with masking tap so that the marks would show up.  With marking directly on to the felt, the small marks would of been lost.

After taping the back off and locating it back into the cab and temporarily secured, all firewall penetrations were marked with a black marker

With the die grinder and a pointed grinding wheel, all penetration marks were cut and drilled.

Here is the back side of the pad after pulling away the tape.

Now the front side.

Here it is in place and secured with #10 machine bolts.  Stainless bolt I felt would look better than small clips that matched the original equipment.  From the engine compartment, the stainless screw heads look nice and clean against the red finish and ad just another touch of sparkle against the firewall.
