A few years back with the truck bed was taken apart, a good bit of time was spent in cleaning off the paint and blasting away the rust.  This being a good learning time for me to use the blaster and experiment with different methods of removing paint...  But once all was said and done, the decision was made not to reuse the old bed sides, instead wait till they are needed and order some new ones.  This of course being one of those items that would push my original easement up.

So now that time has come and here are the bed sides I purchased from Classic Parts.

After a few measurements comparing these to the original bed sides, I am happy with what I got.

The packaging was real good on these things.  Like always, they came in a big card board box but here, the box was framed in with 1 by 6's and padded with styrofoam.

The bed pockets look good...  This brining up a question I am going to have to think about...  how do I get paint down there?

Shot of the inside...

One thing I did notice pretty quickly was, there are no wholes punched for the fenders?

Once I have these things shot with their first coat of primer, I will pull the old bed sides back out and make a pattern for the new wholes.

FYI: For fright on these things, the first bed side puts the coast in around $160 bucks.  For another $20, the other side was included along with the two bumpers, rear fenders, bed strips, tail gate and a few other oversized items...  It pays to wait and do all your freight in one shot if possible.
