Here is the fender after all the filler has been sanded and the first coat of filler primer. Sanding, sanding, cleaning and then going over carefully looking for any low spots, pin holes or spots that still need to be sanded. | |
| Making notes on the fender with a black marker, I can see all the work that still needs to be addressed. From there, glazing putty, another coat of filler primer, sanding, claming and then painting. | ||
| After the right fender had its last sanding, move on to the left fender which needs very little work. | ||
| After two coats of primer and many hours of sanding between coats and afterwards, this fender is also ready to paint. | ||
| After sprayed with sealer, two light
coats of base color and two coats of clear, the fenders were put away for a
few days while work was done on the grill surround
(which I made a hug mistake with). Now back to sanding, sanding and more sanding. This time with 1500 followed by 2000 grit paper. Just enough to smooth out the clear coat. |
