| Yet another picture of the top of the cab showing the reflection of my messy work area and shelving... yet I am still very happy with the way this has turned out! | ||

After flipping the cab back over and setting it up
right on the stand it is time to improve on my sanding techniques. This time instead of spending so much time with the 1500 grit paper, I started off with 1000 then moved to 1500 and then to 2000. Except with the 1000 grit, I stayed off the high spots and away from sharp corners and moved gently and checked the work area often. |
||
| With the 1000, I would quickly spot
high spots in the clear coat and a few of my many runs. yet left a bunch of
work to do with the 1500 grit. Basically, I used the 1000 to spot my problems and ruff of the area before hitting it with the 1500. On average I would say it was: 1 part 1000; 2 parts 1500 and 2 parts 2000 grit paper. Parts equaling time spent. |

| Here is a picture of the back of the
cab after working with the 1000 and then the 1500 grit paper. Also if you notice the wet floor... For me, I have a 2 gallon bucket of water with a small square of dishwashing soap in it. That and a 1 gallon pump bottle of water with soap in it as well. Working with both, the area was always dripping with water. This of course forcing me to stop from time to time and grabbing the shop vac to dry out the floor. |
