The inside of the cab now has color.!!!

May be a bit lighter than I wanted.

From the beginning, the original or existing interior paint was faded, old and dirty.  That is from what paint was their.

Knowing I wanted to try my hand at powder coating and wanted to powder coated all the small parts, the interior cab color based on available powder colors.

So with a RAW color wheel in hand along with my copy of Columbia Coatings catalog, I picked a color that closes matched the existing paint and that specified as the available colors back 60 years ago.  That being RAW #1001.

By doing so I could powder coat any thing and everything I wanted or that would fit in to the oven and then latter on have paint mixed to match the powder color.

This being much cheaper than mixing paint to match the existing and then having custom powders mixed to match the paint.

Over all, I am happy with the interior paint job, a few spots that will need some color sanding but over all, I am happy with the paint job.  The part I am not sure about is the color.  To me it is a bit light, but this is early and the paint hasn't completely cured yet.

Maybe by morning it will have darken up a touch.  Comparing it to a few parts that were powder coated earlier, it will darken up little.  Then again, by the time the seat goes in along with the steering wheel, gauges, radio, windows, door panels and the doors themselves, the color and shadows will change all that.

The next step is to color sand the entire cab, inside and out, with 1000 grit paper.  Touch up any areas needed with a touch up gun, wet sand those areas again and then spray on clear coat.

Here we go again.

After looking over the cab again, I was not happy with the way the red turned out.  So with 1000 grit sandpaper I wet sanded her down again and shot it again.

The issue I had was bugs, lint and dust.

Not setting the garage up the first time, I learned my lesson.

This time I cleaned the floor and rolled out plastic over a wet floor and then rolled down the plastic walls.  This being all new clean plastic.

Now I am happy!
