Here is the existing condition on the inner cab
corner. With this side not being to bad off, I did not order an inner cab corner patch. Instead would fabricate a new piece my self. |
||
| Here is a shot of the rusted areas cut away. | ||
| With the new patch trimmed down to size, it was laid in place for a test fit. | ||
| Once located and the trim lines wiped off, new lines were marked for the cut that would go through the new and the old. | ||
| it is somewhat hard to see, but this
is after the cut through was made of both pieces. The black is the e-coating on scrap from the patch and on its edge is the through cut. |
||
| Here is the area after cleaning up the metal some and taking a look at the condition of the existing metal inside those hidden areas. "Really not to bad." Still, after cleaning up the rust that I could get to, a rust converter was sprayed inside the enclosed areas and then primed. | ||

Here is the new inner cab corner patch panel after
welding in place. Of course, all the joining areas were well cleaned and then treated with weld-thru primer. |
