After placing the new outer panel over the existing,
I traced it out using a black marker. This showing me what I have to
work with. From there I drew a straight line dividing the good metal from the rusted. With a cut off wheel, started cutting the rusted metal away and staying below the second line. |

After scrapping away some undercoating off with a
putty knife and hitting it with a wire wheel I pulled the cab outside to
blast the bottom side. With the rusted metal cut away, I sprayed the hidden areas with a rust converter and then primed the inside. Followed that up with weld-thru primer on the areas to be welded. [Note: Weld-thru primer was applied directly to clean metal and not over rust or another primer.] |

| Here is another shot. | ||
| With the outside corner temporarily screwed in place, the inner cab corner was located once again and then welded into place. | ||

Once again the outer corner gets screwed back on
with any final adjustments made. With a silver marker, I marked on the outer panel a general area where the old metal was cut away. This way when I go cutting through both panels, I don't cut into the areas where there is no existing metal. |
||
| I have now cut through both panels and have removed the new patch. Here you see the new cut line. That would be the darkest line. The other two lines where done in prep to get to this point. | ||
