The inner to outer panel now welded in place.

Tomorrow evening, the outer panel will be screwed back on along with the upper cowl to verify the location of the outer panel...

Also note that no weld have been place from the inner panel to the toe board or floor board.  This will allow the fire wall to shift where needed along with making the floor board and toe board panel easier to replace once that package arrives for the driver's side.

Much like the inner side cowl, the outer side panel did not have accommodations for the side cab vent.  Therefore the panels have to go through some modifications so the side vent can be kept.

With the existing outer cowl being cut down to fit inside the new panel, the two panels were screwed together.  By doing so, both pieces could be cut at the same time to guarantee an exact fit.

With the screw holes, and all tooling marks sanded down, the existing cab vent is held in place with 'Butt Joint Weld Clamps'.

Of course these clamps wont hold the two pieces perfectly flush, they do help.  As I worked around the edges doing spot welds ever two inches apart, I used a small putty knife between the two edges to bring the edges flush.  Then slowly closed in the spot welds with many, many spot welds.  Cooling each weld with a blast of air and stopping occasionally to let the panel cool.

Here is a shot after the first round of spot welds.

After a few more rounds of spot welds, blasting each weld with a blast of compressed air, the metal is left to cool.

After several more rounds, the seams are all filled in.
